Rumiko Takahashi's RIN-NE -- Characters

Rinne is a shinigami, a God of Death (sort of). When he puts on the Haori of the Underworld, he can move between this world and the world of the dead and normal people cannot see him. Using supernatural tools, he sends souls that cannot rest in peace into the afterlife, for a fee. He is extremely poor.		Sakura Mamiya is an ordinary high school student, but when she was a child she became able to see ghosts due to a mysterious incident. She can speak to ghosts as well as see and touch things not of this world.

Rinne's oddly youthful grandmother, a shinigami. When Sakura was a little girl and was lost in the realm of the dead, Tamako rescued Sakura.		A "black cat by contract" who served Tamako. After Tamako fired him, he made a contract with Rinne. He can change forms from a little kitten to a monster cat.
